I have read many of the backup options for the FOSS version.

Install Zimbra on an LVM volume.

Then create a script to stop zimbra, unmount the file system, create a snapshot, re-mount the file system, and start Zimbra. Then in the background you can mount the snapshot in a temporary location and back it up using tar or rsync. rsync is probably preferred since you only need to copy new/changed files).

When I was using ZCS FOSS, I used [SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version in production environment.

Its simple to configure, and was tested successfully.
