[SOLVED] zmconfigd is not running.

I can not get zmconfigd service to run after upgrade to 7.1.1. Any help would be appreciated. Here is output of log file.

UPDATE: I rolled my server back for now after not being able to resolve the issue. Will try again on a new software release.

we are also experiencing this after the upgrade to 7.1.1. after doing zmcontrol stop, and making sure no zimbra processes are running, zmconfigd seems to leave /opt/zimbra/log/zmconfigd*pid behind. another observation is that zmprov <put command here> takes a very, very long time to execute, which eats up cpu resources. i just don't know if it is related to zmconfigd. will have to check this further.

I also had the same problem. Reverted back to a previous version I was going from 7.0.1 to 7.1.1 on Centos 64 bit.

Does anyone know if this bug has been reported? If it has not been reported then perhaps we need to report it. I am not familiar with reporting bugs in software. Is there a specific way that software bugs need to be communicated?

Anyone discover a work around in the meantime or is it better now to just wait for the issue to be fixed?

If it is a bug it won't 'just get fixed', you need to report it in bugzilla. You should search first to see if there's anything filed and create a new bug report if there isn't, include as much detail as possible and post the bug number back here for other to add their comments and votes.

I am experiencing the same problem with zmconfigd not running.

Unfortunately, I don't have the capability of rolling back so any help would be greatly apprecaited.

I guess it helps to read the release announcements. The problem is a bug that was fixed with version 7.1, but you need to delete zmconfigd.pid.

Right before upgrade as root type
rm /opt/zimbra/log/zmconfigd.pid

Then proceed with the upgrade.
