Lost functionality??

It would appear we have lost functionality with our last upgrade. The use of advanced search (like... in:someAddressBook john doe) within the address picker neither errors out nor produces any result. Bug? Deprecated feature?

Just tried it here, and it works. 7.1.0 NETWORK on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS.

Try reindexing the mailbox to see if there is an index issue?

Still no go. I also tried on a separate "clean" browser, just to be sure. (and it's failed in winXP, OSX10.6.7, and on safari and firefox... so definitely seems server related).

Ok, tried restarting services. No go.

Interesting though... i just tried the HTML client and it came back with one or two of the few dozen contacts that it should have. (Tried several addressbooks, same results.)

e.g. just specifying a folder...
in:"Contacts"
only resulted in two or three contacts where as a default search results in the full "Contacts" folder's results.

That definitely doesn't seem right.

Did you check /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log to see if there were any errors/dumps when you tried the search?

I have three different contact folders, and I've tried searching for all contacts in one folder using "in:folder" and adding someones name to the search, and it's all working just as expected.

Tried this both on 7.1.0 NE and OSS.

That's a negative. No reported errors. At this point, I'm fresh out of idea's... rebooted, checked logs, narrowed down that it's a server-side & server-wide thing, reindexed...

Okay, latest testing:
Nevermind the "inconsistent" comment before. Was "focusing" a little too hard. HTML actually works perfectly. Default, local, shared contact books can all be accessed individually through advanced search like "in:sharedfoldername".

The Ajax version is where the issue is, and the advanced search isn't working on any folders (default, local, shared).

Looked for errors while performing these searches and found the issue:
Couldn't parse query: ((( contact:in:"contacts" e* ) AND .....
.... Lexical error at line 1, column 15. Encountered: ":" (58), after : ""

Is it not allowing an advanced search in the "Select Addresses" window??? I used the same syntax as in the HTML version.

Looking at it further... Can anyone confirm my suspicion that the "Select Addresses" window (in AJAX version) has a predefined/hidden "contact:" that gets prefixed to the search phrase? I tried doing something like "john in:{foldername}" thinking that it would form the proper search phrase "contact:john in:{foldername}", but that didn't work either.
