How to share a calendar

Using OSS 7.0 on sles10. I share the calendar and give the proper rights. The email is received and they accept. I now need to know how to add this share to mobile devices, specifically iPhone 4 and iPad. I have tried going to the URL from the shared calendar but get a item does not exist error in safari. I then try to add a calendar to the device(s) using the built-in way, ie subscribed calendars and caldav to no avail. Surely I am not the only one that is trying this? Or am I doing it wrong?

I believe what you're looking for is:
Settings-> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Add Account... -> Other -> Add CalDAV Account
