Question amavisd tmp files

hi,

i can see about 5000 temporal files on /opt/zimbra/data/amavisd/tmp with 0 bytes and some are 5 months old.

there's also some amavis-* dirs, but those are deleted everyday by a cron entry.

can i remove these files without problem?

why are they created?
