Default Expand distribution list

I'm not getting the "plus" link for expanding distribution lists. And the "Expand" right-click option is grayed out. I've been looking for what might be the cause of this (options disabled, reported bugs, etc) but haven't come up with anything. Anyone else having trouble with DL expanding? There are a few bugs reported but they are all specific to a particular circumstance when they don't work... mine just don't work at all.
Thanks for your time.

Curiously... some of the DL's have the "expand" option now... (and are recognized by the 3-people icon). Others remain 1-person icons and lack the functionality. Since I haven't done anything manually that might explain this, I'm guessing a background processes is *slowly* (like... we're talking glacially) processing the DL's to give them this new functionality. I'll call this thread "Solved" if/when it finishes.

hi Emiro, i had the same issue. I had a 1-icon entry in my contacts that hided the 3-icon entry from the GAL. I did a search in "all items" in the address book and deleted the 1-icon version. After that the 3-icon worked again.
hope this helps you,
greetings, Lars.

Hmm. That doesn't seem to do the trick. I found some that aren't working that I had extra entries for, but deleting my local entries didn't help, nor did "forget"ting the priority.

Are you talking about Distribution Lists or Contact Groups?

Distribution Lists. The are configured precisely the same. Some can expand, others can't.

Default * Solved *

Found this thread when I encountered the same problem after an upgrade from 6.x to 7.x, but without an apparent solution. So, here's what I found.

There were two steps involved in making all of my DLs expandable.

1) Click the Address Book tab, then Emailed Contacts. Search and destroy any entries that point back to distribution lists. This made all but one of my DLs expandable.

2) If, after deleting occurrences from Emailed Contacts, the Distribution List still appears with a one-person icon rather than a three-person icon, there will be a "Forget" link to the right of the contact in the Auto-Complete list . Click that link. Now it will show up as an expandable distribution list the next time it is used.

Hope this helps someone else.

Best regards,
Lane Beneke (NoDough)

I had this issue as well (most of the DLs were not expandable) after the upgrade to 7.1.4 (from the 6.x series). I ran the "galsync" command on the server, and everything worked after that. This, even tho' we were syncing it every 6 hours or so.
