SSHA->MD5 = how to change password hashing method?

I have an Asterisk integrated with LDAP and Zimbra using the same accounts.

Unfortunately, by default Zimbra using SSHA method to crypt passwords, but it will be very useful for me to store password in MD5 (in userPassword LDAP attribute).

How to change default crypting/hashing method which used when creating accounts with Zimbra Admin web iface?

So... why SSHA and why i cant change SSHA to other crypt method?

I would love to know if there is a way to do this as well. I'd like to store the passwords as either MD5 or SHA1. Is there any way to do this?
