How I can send an email when a mailbox is created

Hi Zimbra Users.

I have this question. How I can send an email when a mailbox is created. something like a "welcome message" I am going to appreciate all your answers.

Someone has or had the same detail. Could someone share how you give solution to this problem ?


My server is Zimbra OSE 604
Ubuntu 8 64 bits

As far as I know, it is possible only if you add user via SCRIPT (not via admin interface). Read this thread Welcome mail

That is correct, there is no built in way to send a welcome message - but there are several ways you can script to do it, including the example in the forum post linked to by mrbs21.
