Default Removing external IMAP account not freeing up storage?

I just noticed on 7.0.1 that when I delete an external IMAP account from the web client, it appears that there is still space on the server left over.

I am assuming this because the folders I was getting access to externally were large, and I noticed the size of my backups increase proportionally.

When I deleted the external account the size of my backup didn't change...

Not sure zimbra keeps this kind of thing and if there is anyway to know if it is still hanging around anymore? Or how to get ride of it?

Thanks in advance!

I assume you mean an IMAP account?

Is the external 'Folder' in your Trash? If it's there it won't have been removed until you delete it or it gets removed automatically. If you had the mail delivered to your Inbox then the mail will remain on your server.

I move the folders to my trash because I didn't want to remove the emails from external server.

I used the default for IMAP accounts which is to deliver the email to a separate folder.

So, what do I do at this point?

If you want to remove this folder then just delete it from the Trash, removing that has no effect on your external account - with the proviso that I assume you left the email on the external server and it's still there.

Once you remove that folder from the Trash you will remove the email completely from the Zimbra server and the space is freed - I assume that's what you're trying to do?

(sorry, meant to say that I DIDN'T move the folder to the trash because I didn't want to remove the folders from the external server). So no, it doesn't exist in my trash.

So, I am where I am right now. No external account, no folder visible. But clearly taking up space on my server.

What exactly should I do at this point?

Seems like a bug that when an external account is removed and the folders are removed that they are still lingering around on the server??
