Default IMAP question

AT present the hosting company that host our website plus email server doesnt like having a large number of pop connections per hour.. at present it set to 20 per hour.

Now on i have my zimbra box at the office set to download email every 15 minutes for the 10+ accounts that have email on the foreign server.

Now today i asked if i can have zimbra pull email from the remote server as email arrives, but was warned that my ip would be blacklisted if i exceed the like of pop connections per hour.

They suggested that we download email from their server via IMAP and not POP.

I need your thoughts on this,...

Regards,
Andre

Why don't you do as they suggest?

That depends on how you retrieve them.

Why not avoid POP/IMAP and have the remote mail server forward emails to your Zimbra server?

Or just host your own mail domain on your own Zimbra and get rid of the remote email host?
