Question [SOLVED] FWD via SMTP:

Hello Admins, I am seeing a lot of this in my mail log lately and do not see the message bounced, blocked, or passed spammy results.

Quote:

FWD via
SMTP: watches@leveragesoftware.com> -
<example.user@xyz.com>,BODY=7BIT 250 2.0.0 Ok,
id=13211-14,
from MTA([127.0.0.1]:10025): 250 2.0.0 Ok:queued as
AF1AB75E359

How do I determine if these are coming in under the rules "radar"
for those allowed to forward to my domain or user accounts?

In addition, what are the best practices for stopping intruders from FWD via SMTP through my domain mail server?

Right now only users should be able to connect and route mail through my mail server. I do not want to be contributing to the Spam already out there.

Default

Search the web (or the forums) for "open relay test", run one of them when you find it and confirm whether it passes or fails the test. Zimbra is not, by default, an open relay unless you've made changes that make it one.
