    Question remove/disable imapproxy

    Hi..

I'm still having troubles w/tomcat dropping out every night now...

..and after several searches and reading everything here I'm thinking that my problems are with the imapproxy.....

...I'm running opensource zcs 4.0.2 on fc4 server with 2 gb of ram.......

...and some how I have the imapproxy service installed...oops...everything is on just one server...so I really do NOT need the imapproxy service....???

...I did not have this problem with version 3 or version 4.0.0.......so I'm not sure how imapproxy got installed.....sorry..

....What I would like to know is can I disable the imapproxy service...and if so how do it do it...???

Any help with this will be GREATLY appreciated....TIA....

Well the wiki page has this:
    Code:
    zmprov ms server.example.com +zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy
to start it so I assume you can do the same command to stop it using:
    Code:
    zmprov ms server.example.com -zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy
You must have enabled this during the install, it isn't turned on by default.

    Actually this:

    Code:
    zmprov ms server.example.com +zimbraServiceEnabled ""
Is essentially a no-op, since "+" means add an additional attribute with no value, which means it won't get added. The "" for a value really ony works with single-valued attributes, and will cause them to get unset.

To unset a multi-value attribute with a particular value you want:

    Code:
    zmprov ms server.example.com -zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy

    Schemers........your suggestion did NOT work.......

Where does one go to learn all of the capabilities of the zmprov command.???..and do NOT say the wiki....because it is NOT complete...

    TIA....

Define didn't work Syntax errror or something else?

You might have to do the following from the command line:

    Code:
zmprov -- ms server.example.com -zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy
The extra -- is needed to tell it that -zimbraServiceEnabled isn't a CLI arg.

As far as actually stopping the imap proxy service, just changing this attr won't do it. You'll have to stop/start all the services, though I'm not sure what steps you take do that. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

    2.) prov> ms server.example.com -zimbraServiceEnabled imapproxy [enter]
3.) prov> gs server.example.com [enter] and item is not listed....)
    4.) prov> quit [enter]

thx for your solution.. had the same issue while upgrading from 4.5.11 to 5.0.8 (open source edition) even though i selected NO during install.

    edit:
also, the imapproxy selects standard pop/imap ports and therefore, access via default mailclient doesn't work anymore. the solution is to change these ports again.

    Code:
    zmprov -l ms myserver.com zimbraPop3BindPort 110 zimbraPop3SSLBindPort 995 zimbraPop3ProxyBindPort 7110 zimbraPop3SSLProxyBindPort 7995 zimbraImapBindPort 143 zimbraImapSSLBindPort 993 zimbraImapProxyBindPort 7143 zimbraImapSSLProxyBindPort 7993
