Default IM Chat Archiving for users who connect using external XMPP Clients

Hi!

We're currently using ZCS 6.0.7GA (OSE) in our office. One of the features that we have been using is the internal IM which is accessible through the Web Interface. However, most of our users find it more convenient to use an external XMPP client to connect to the server for IM services.

In this regard, I would like to ask if it is possible for us to archive / keep the IM history for users who connect to the Zimbra IM Service (just like any other XMPP Server?).

Any help / comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

There is little point in archiving any IM chat, from the next major release of Zimbra (7.5?) the IM server will be removed. Further details are in several forum threads and in the bugzilla RFE.
