Default A lot of zimbramon messages after migration

Recently I migrated my Zimbra from 6 to 7.1. The previous installation used to an external mta to deliver messages. Zimbra now receives and sends mail using its own MTA. After the email migration admin@mydomain.com has received thousands of old messages from the MTA, when it was external and not local. How should proceed to clear the list of old messages from zimbramon?

Did you look in the deferred queue to see if that's where the message are? If not, how old are these messages? If they are in the deferred queue then you can remove them all. Why does receiving all these old messages bother you? You could actually set a filter to automatically remove them when they're delivered to the Admin account.
