Default Purging mail folder contents X days old

Hi,

We are in the testing phase of our deployment. In our current production environment (Exchange 2003), we configured ExMerge to extract the messages in the specified folder (e.g. Junk folder) that are more than 4 days old and to store them in a offline .pst file. Does anyone know if such a tool or script exists for Zimbra? I welcome all thoughts and/or suggestions about this.

We are running the enterprise/network edition of Zimbra 7.0.1.

Thanks!

Kevin

Hello,

Zimbra can be set up to delete messages after X number of days based on: Trash, Junk, everything. There isn't per-folder other than those. Also, it won't migrate them anywhere. As far as Zimbra goes, there aren't any PST or "offline" folders to migrate them to. You can use HSM to move things to slower disk after a certain period of time if you are looking at getting messages off of more expensive disk and onto cheaper disk. We are currently set up to migrate items older than 60 days to slower and cheaper disks, which allows us to be more comfortable about letting our users have higher quotas without worrying about blowing a ton of money on premium storage.
