    Default Server Lock - saslauthd 100% CPU

    Hi,
    My mta server is locking, with 100% cpu used by sasalauthd.
    After working on the system for some time, we believe that a user with a password containing "č" (without quotes) is locking the saslauth daemon when sending messages.

    Can you confirm this issue?

    Details about configuration:
    Server running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 4) with Zimbra MTA Antispam and Antivirus module
    /etc/sysconfig/i18n contain:
    LANG="en_US"
    SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en:it_IT.UTF-8:it_IT:it"
    SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"
    Zimbra Version:
    zimbra-core-4.0.1_GA_324.RHEL4-20060908135401
    zimbra-mta-4.0.1_GA_324.RHEL4-20060908135401

    Ciao,
    Claudio

    For those interested:
    Changed in /etc/sysconfig/i18n
    LAN="it_IT.UTF-8"
    2 news:
    1) Now even with strange character in password saslauthd does not lock down system.
    2) Zimbra client and zimbra administration allow to setup a password with character > 128. As a web client you can use a password like "giosuč" but pop3/imap/smtp refuse to authenticate that user.

    I think this is a bug that should be fixed, at least should be forbidden to use such character in password field.

    Does anyone agree?

    Ciao
    Claudio

    If you think it's a bug and it's causing problems then file it in bugzilla.
