Default importing emails

I have started to use Zimbra 6.0 on a new server and up till now I use qmail and store the email in cyrus-imap. I have browsed the forums but I was not able to find the answer for my migration.

I have around 20GB emails that I want to migrate to zimbra. Therefore I do not want to sync via internet between my two email servers (new zimbra and qmail). Therefore I want to copy all the email from cyrus-imap from the old server to a directory on the new zimbra server and now I do not now how to import all the copied emails in maildir format from that directory to zimbra.

Please can you give me a hint? Thanks libor

I recommend you to use Zimbra 7.1, it's much faster and resource efficient than Zimbra 6.x, and it connects better to Apple products.

About the migration, as the wiki says, the recommended method is using imapsync. Since it just connects two imap servers and copy mails and folders, it's "fail-safe" (but always backup original mails before doing any migration). Last weekend I transfered 300Gb (400+ users) between two servers using this method in about 12 hours.

good luck!
