    Default zimbraMtaRestriction values not saved

    Hi,

I add attributes to use external RBLs using zmprov.
    Code:
    [zimbra@pluto ~]$ zmprov mcf zimbraMtaRestriction reject_non-fqdn_hostname zimbraMtaRestriction reject_non_fqdn_sender zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org"
    [zimbra@pluto ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org
After a while (an hour).. the values went back to default.. and the RBL value went missing..

    Code:
    [zimbra@pluto ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    Any ideas?

I made those changes to my system over an hour ago, main.cf was rewritten then and hasn't changed and all the restrictions are still in place.
    Code:
    zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_invalid_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov mcf zimbraMtaRestriction reject_non-fqdn_hostname zimbraMtaRestriction reject_non_fqdn_sender zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org"
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRestriction
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non-fqdn_hostname
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_non_fqdn_sender
    zimbraMtaRestriction: reject_rbl_client relays.ordb.org
    [zimbra@chinook ~]$ ls /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf -l
    -rw-r--r-- 1 zimbra zimbra 1712 Oct 10 20:20 /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf
What version and release of zimbra are you running?
    Regards

    Bill

Just something around the same subject, these settings did not persist during the upgrade from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.

Just a warning to watch it on the next upgrade. I don't have another system to test this on to confirm, but will watch it closely on the next point release and file a bug if necessary.

    Just so you know

Did you file a bug report for that - if you have the time could you do that?

Yeah, see the end of this thread:
    rbl config question

Also, when putting in, rbls's via the:
    zmprov mcf zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client bl.spamcop.net"
command, it wipes the configs for any checkmarks for:

    Manage Global Settings

    MTA Tab

    Protocol checks:

Hostname in greeting violates RFC (reject_invalid_hostname)
Client must greet with a fully qualified hostname (reject_non_fqdn_hostname)
Sender address must be fully qualified (reject_non_fqdn_sender)

    DNS checks:
    Client's IP address (reject_unknown_client)
    Hostname in greeting (reject_unknown_hostname)
    Sender's domain (reject_unknown_sender_domain)
Nice little feature as well.... ;-)
Work around for me was to check whatever option you want, via menu above, then do a

    zmprov gacf | grep zimbraMtaRes
Then, add that or those features to the rbl's when you add them.

    zmprov mcf zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_invalid_hostname" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client bl.spamcop.net" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client dnsbl.sorbs.net" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client rhsbl.sorbs.net" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org" zimbraMtaRestriction "reject_rbl_client combined.njabl.org"
    Just FYI....

From 4.0.2 upgrade to 4.0.3.. the settings vanish without notice.. however linux "history" command helps.. can recover anytime..
