Default Upgrade to 7.0.1 from 6.05

We are currently running Zimbra Open Source Edition 6.0.5, but we are about to upgrade to 7.0.1. We will therefore need to upgrade our Ubuntu to 10.04, so will the best course of action be as follows:

1: Do a clean install of 7.0.1
2: Restore Mail backup from 6.05

Will this work? Thinking about it I'm not sure, so any advice would be helpful.

no, the correct migration path would be

6.0.5 (ubuntu 8, actual server) -> 6.0.5 (ubuntu 10, complete backup & restore to another server) -> 7.0.1 (ubuntu 10, upgrade on the new server)

but why do you need to upgrade your ubuntu? ubuntu 8 supports zimbra 7.0.1, so you can do:

6.0.5 (ubuntu 8) -> 7.0.1 (ubuntu 8)

changing operating systems is way more complex than just upgrading zimbra

Regards,
Tom
