Default alt-a IE problem

Hello,

I've recently upgraded my zimbra to 7.0.1 and my users complain that during writing new email when they use alt-a (we have polish keybord and alt-a is really important letter in our alphabet) all previously written text disappeared. On my other server with zimbra 7.0 there is no such problem.

Hi,

I've updated another node of zimbra to 7.0.1 from 7.0 and there is no such a problem. I've tested this on the same browser and system. Do u have any idea which option in zcs admin console could be resposible for this ?

I have same problem here. Upgraded Zimbra from 6.0.10 to 6.0.12, then Ubuntu upgrade to 10.04 LTS, then to Zimbra 7.1.0. In Firefox everything looks OK, but in IE message is cleared then Alt+A is pressed. Looking forward to see any solution for that. I can't force users to use only one browser, even if it's Firefox.

Update:

OK. I've made some tests, and it seems that alt + A means same thing as: Ctrl + A and then Alt + A. Saw that, when after that pressed Ctrl + Z (undo).
That's why whole test message is deleted. The sequence for right Alt + A is:
1. Select all - mark all text (Ctrl + a)
2. Type ą (Alt + a) - where it overrides marked text with ą

The problem is related to Zimbra SOAP - prepared simple website with <Textarea> and <input> HTML tags and everything worked fine. Also checked with Gmail web in IE, no such issue. Even Zimbra webmail with simple HTML works fine - only in AJAX interface issue exists.

Still trying to figure out what can I do to solve this issue.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

Adam

Use Firefox instead of IE.
It's already reported as a bug, we're waiting for a fix (see https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=58569)

Managed to solve the problem with huge help from PROs at Zimbra. Patch provided by them helped and issue is now solved. I had to apply some changes in source code of JavaScript in Zimbra.
Look forward for next release of ZCS. It will fix the problem.
