Default Zimbra External LDAP Authentication with Another LDAP Attribute (not uid)

Hi,

I have running Zimbra 7.0.1. I would like to authenticate user login to Zimbra webmail by using external LDAP attribute.

LDAP attribute :

uid : 790617 (my user ID)
mail : m.rivai@domain.com

Zimbra :
mailbox : m.rivai@domain.com

Is this possible to tell Zimbra that I would like to authenticate by using LDAP uid (790617) to access m.rivai@domain.com mailbox ?

Thank you

What I want to ask is how to use a LDAP uid attribute as Zimbra user authentication and tell Zimbra to use another LDAP attribute (ex : mail address) as Zimbra account.

It is similar with AD+Exchange scenario, I'm login with my id number on Windows Logon but I have my firstname.lastname as my email account.

you need to set the following attribute:

<attr id="256" name="zimbraAuthLdapExternalDn" type="string" max="256" cardinality="single" optionalIn="account" flags="domainAdminModifiable">
<desc>explict mapping to an external LDAP dn for a given account</desc>
</attr>
