Is it a self signed certificate? If so, you have to let it fail, save the settings, edit the settings, turn off SSL, then it should work.

Has something changed on IOS devices then? When we were testing several months ago we had to do this to get them to sync with a self signed cert. After installing the verified cert it worked as expected.
Doug thanks for getting back to me on this.
I am truly lost. I have tried various configurational settings on the exchange setup on the iphone 3GS (latest OS) and all are returning 'unable to verify account information'.
I have triple and double checked the admin gui of the mail server and zimbra mobile is clearly turned on and enabled.
Therefore, should I follow xaqar's methodology instead?

Just checked the sync.log:
Now, this suggests that I am putting something incorrect in the exchange settings on the iphone? It requuests the following:Code:2011-03-28 14:34:48,696 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - OPTIONS Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?null 2011-03-28 14:34:48,739 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - User not found; user=hesan@mail.sussexxxx.com 2011-03-28 14:34:48,739 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - HTTP/1.1 401 Invalid username or password 2011-03-28 14:34:49,416 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - OPTIONS Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?null 2011-03-28 14:34:49,459 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - User not found; user=hesan@mail.sussexxxx.com 2011-03-28 14:34:49,459 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - HTTP/1.1 401 Invalid username or password 2011-03-28 14:34:49,651 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - OPTIONS Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?null 2011-03-28 14:34:49,694 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - User not found; user=hesan@mail.sussexxxx.com 2011-03-28 14:34:49,694 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - HTTP/1.1 401 Invalid username or password 2011-03-28 14:34:49,914 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - OPTIONS Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?null 2011-03-28 14:34:49,957 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - User not found; user=hesan@mail.sussexxxx.com 2011-03-28 14:34:49,957 INFO [btpool0-8://mail.sussexxxx.com:444/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] [] sync - HTTP/1.1 401 Invalid username or password
Email: hesan@sussexxxx.com
Domain: mail.sussexxxx.com
username: hesan
passw: xxxxxxx
Then after it tryes to verify these bits of information first, it then loads up another box entitled; 'Server'. I then add the following
Server: sussexxxx.com
Then it replies by saying "Cannot verify info".
So, from the log it looks as if it doesn't like the fact it is looking for 'hesan@mail.sussexxxx.com', when it should look for 'hesan@sussexxxx.com'.
Thoughts?
For domain, try just using sussexxxx.com.
So both the server field and domain field have 'sussexxxx.com' in them. Still no joy!
Very strange....

I think I may have got this. I noticed that SSLPort was set to 444 - not the default 443. So I found that Apache was using 443. I then changed Apache to 444 and set the zimbraMailSSLPort to 443.
I have just restarted the server and all is looking normal -am about to re-try the sync again and will report back.

Yes, now solved. Ports were different and changed SSLPort back to default 443, and amended Apache to port 444. Now the exchange settings worked like a charm!
Thanks for the advice from all

athemiya,
I'm running into the same issue with my setup. Can you give me a little more information on where to change the settings (httpd.conf) or Zimbra? Sorry about the amateur questions. I have no Zimbra experience and kind of inherited it.
