Default Zimbra Benchmarks

Hello,

Is there anywhere I could find Zimbra Benchmarks?
I am looking at how many email accounts and domain names I can run on various server configurations. Does large user volume and activity only require one to upgrade the amount of RAM and Harddrive space?

What kind of server configuration would be good for a hundred?
What about 1,000 active users?

Please let me know your experiences on the subject.

Thanks.

Please read the Quick Start guide for Hardware requirements:
System Requirements for Zimbra Collaboration Suite 6.0

As a rule of thumb any decent Server coming with two Multicore XEON CPUs, 8 GByte or more of RAM and at least 4-6 SAS drives - RAID10 preferred - will handle thousands of mailboxes without any problems. If you are a service provider you will probably use a multi server setup to distribute the load of MTA and Mailboxd to different machines.

Also you may want to search the forum for related discussions. The topic has been covered several times: Hardware Requirements

As an HSP we have more mailbox servers and less MTAs than many ISPs or unis, as most of our mail is stored, and we have no quotas (ppl pay for what they use). This creates backup issues, so in order to maintain manageability of the backups, we slice it finer.
