| | | Reply emails missiny reply Hi. long time user. First time poster.
Here is my current dilemma:
Over the past 2 months, we have been getting rare, user specific messages missing the reply.
This is the scenario:
Zimbra User sends an email to Client.
Client responds
Zimbra User gets receives original email with no reply.
I want to say this is a user error because I check the message on the Admin Console and no, it does not have the reply. the user here uses Thunderbird as the email program and thats what she sees.
I've asked them to ask the Client if she maybe accidentally hit sent without a reply, but no one has said anything. Is this even possible? The message is 100% intact, just no reply. I would like call this a user error, mainly because my Zimbra User has a tendency to f-up program settings... a lot and it is isolated to just her. But I just want to know if this is a known bug.
Thanks a lot.
Release 6.0.1_GA_1816.RHEL5_64_20090911174852 CentOS5_64 FOSS edition.
Probably should update a little.... |

| | | it's hard to imagine anything that would be accurate enough to just remove a reply.
it'd be easiest if you could get a cooperative client ot check their sent items and verify that the message in there did or did not have the reply in it. additionally, you could have them send it to you, and compare the size of the email versus the size of the message your mta logs (both pre and post amavis processing) |

Can you post the email header? |

Well, I will be installing a newer Zimbra on a virtual test server tonight see how everything goes. |

| | | Nah man, its not the complete thing. Thats just the beginning of the Client's reply. A little later its hidden in more html.
Until I get this fixed, I've been editing out the html and relaying the message to the user. We'll see what happens tonight. |
03-15-2011, 06:29 PM
| | | Try use a email client like thunderbird and see if it display correctly. Another way is copy, paste and save the email body to a .html file and see if it display in a web browser. |
03-15-2011, 06:38 PM
| | | Well, I'm kind of the Computer dictator at work so everyone is using Thunderbird. Heres what I got:
Thunderbird - Does not show, source does show message hidden in html
Zimbra Client/online - Does not show, source does also show message hidden in html
Saving as html - Nada. |
03-15-2011, 07:08 PM
| | | If that is the case, then it maybe problem from sender end, or is the email transmitted completely? The end of the email should be something like following: Code: </html>
--=_NextPart_001_01CBDF6D.244668B9 PS: The reason I ask to try saving it in html is to see if the html is actually displayable. It can be wrong html code. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | Why Join?
