4.0 supports 'virtual hosting', or allows you to setup domains such that users logging into a designated fqdn can login as 'user' rather than 'user@domain'.
I saw this and thought that perhaps that might do what I wanted but it was unclear and I did not understand the configuration page.

Virtual hosting works like a charm, yes. The only problem with it is the "wrong" SSL-certificate. Or is there something, I'm not aware of?
