How do automatic updates work for the Zimbra Appliance?

If I deploy the Zimbra Appliance, I'm curious as to how the updates actually propogate if I configure it for automatic updates. Do users stand the chance of getting disconnected from email if critical updates are being applied? What happens to my virtual appliance configuration?

Within the zimbra appliance this updates the OS and stages the Zimbra packages for update. We don't do an automated update of zimbra itself, you still have to manually approve the zcs upgrade. This prevents long email outages should something go wrong if you schedule the automated updates in the middle of the night.
