Default Flooding Network

Hi, I have Zimbra OCS installed on my network here at work. Its been running fine for 6 months or so, but now it keeps flooding my network to the point where the only website we can load is zimbra itself. The minute I unplug the zimbra server from the network, I can access everything again.

Please help as I need to get this running ASAP.

Im on 6.08

Cheers

What do you mean by 'flooding the network'? You'll have to provide a bit more detail about the problem or what might be causing it on the Zimbra server.

well whenever its connected to the network, the activity light on the swith is going crazy and none of the computers on the network can access the internet, the only website I can reach is the zimbra login page.

That just tells me what you've already said.

You're going to have to look at the Zimbra server and determine what's causing the problem. You don't say whether this traffic is inbound or outbound. I've certainly never heard of Zimbra causing any problem like this unless you have an infection on your LAN (or the server itself). Have a look in the Zimbra log files and see if there's anything that stands out as odd. You also need to determine where the traffic is originating: check your LAN for infections; check the server for infections; (as I've mentioned) see if this is inbound or outbound traffic; what happened on your server recently, any updates; check if you have a compromised mail account on your server.

Hi Bill, I've power cycled the server and changed the lan cable, that seems to have stopped it. I will download the logs later and see what it is causing it. Im sure the fix is purely coincidental, so I will do more digging.

As a precautionary measure, how do I setup antivirus on the server or is it already built in?

An anti-virus & anti-spam system is already installed on the Zimbra server.
