Default Issues after upgrading from 6.0.10 to 7

After upgrading from 6.010 to 7, everything seems to be working fine. However when I reboot or shutdown the server, at the very end I get this message for all Zimbra services:

Stopping ldap...sh: cannot create /opt/zimbra/data/tmp/zmcontrol.out.kxeAA: Read-only file system
cat: /opt/zimbra/data/tmp/zmcontrol.out.kxeAA: No such file or directory Failed.

I get this for all services: logger, zmconfigd, ect....

Is this normal??

No, it's not normal - you have a filesystem problem. Start here: REPAIR: Zimbra wont start and if that doesn't help then try these: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%2B%22Read...em%22+%2Blinux

Actually this is not a filesystem issue. What is happening is that when you issue a reboot or shutdown, it will stop all Zimbra services like normal. However after the other shutdown process, the last thing it does it unmount all drives, then it looks like something is invoking the shutdown Zimbra services again.

I have tested several times and also I had a box I had 7.0 Beta 3 and upgrade it to GA and it started doing this again.

Have you taken a look at the tmp folder to see who it belongs to, permissions, etc.? My stuff to follow.

ls -la /opt/zimbra/data/

The only difference on mine is that syslog.conf.HtUR has root and not zimbra. However again, the issue is that the system has unmounted the disks, so of course it can not write to anything since they don't exist anymore.

I will do a fresh install of 7.0 GA and see if it happens. So far all of these tests I have been doing was an upgrade from either 6.0.10 or 7.0 Beta 3.

That sounds like a good idea. Good luck.

Well it looks like it is a bug. As I have just installed a fresh install of 7.0 GA in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I get the same errors. Now this is in a ESXi guest. I am just amazed that other's have not seen this, however again this happens at the very end and if you do not watch it you will miss it.

Does this happens when you reboot the server, without shutting down the zimbra service? Does this error is there when you reboot the machine after stopping zimbra service.

This happens on both reboot and shutdown. Both of them will invoke the shutdown of all the Zimbra services, then it will terminate some other processes, then it shutsdown the VMTools components and then for example on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS it says unmounting weak file system. Then all the errors show up that it is trying to shutdown Zimbra again.
