using zmmailbox export, getting "chunked stream ended unexpectedly"

With the new ZCS 7.0, I'm trying to use zmmailbox to export all the email accounts from my server. I'm going in a loop over the list of mailboxes returned from zmprov -l gaa and doing the following :

zmmailbox -z -m email@domain.com getRestURL "//?fmt=tgz" > email.tgz

Of the 135 or so accounts, all of them worked but three. The error I get on the three that didn't work is :

ERROR: zclient.IO_ERROR (Unable to get ?fmt=tgz) (cause: java.io.IOException chunked stream ended unexpectedly)

Two of the three accounts that didn't work are fairly large. One is 40GB and another is 27GB. The other one that failed was less than 5GB. We have many accounts with over 10GB that worked, including one that was 36GB that worked. I couldn't find anything on the forums about "chunked stream ended unexpectedly".

Same problem here.
It only happens on Zimbra 7.x .
Random accounts, during backup, get the "cause: java.io.IOException chunked stream ended unexpectedly)" error for some reason i can't debug

Anyone solved the issue?

Try with //?fmt=zip .
This solved the problem for me on ZCS 7.1.0 even for very large accounts (30/40 GB)

Anyone tried restore from zip ?

It's messing-up the account, I have multiple Inbox, and not all is restored.

Tried again with tgz, and it's working well.

Has anyone upgraded to 7.1.2? Does that resolve the issue? zip appears to be an option from cli only.

It would be interesting if anyone has done that, ZCS 7.1.2 hasn't been released yet.

Hi guys,
Just wondering if this query was ever resolved...?

I export two mailboxes from Release 7.1.2_GA_3268.UBUNTU10_64 UBUNTU10_64 FOSS edition every 2 hours as a simple way of keeping a reasonably current dump of the mailboxes (to supplement nightly backups).. The two mailboxes are very different in size, one being around 300mb in tgz format, the other 1.6gb.

My export script mails me with the status of the export each time it runs and retries twice per mailbox on error.

Sometimes I get two clean exports with no issues.
Sometimes one mailbox will export fine and the other will need 1-2 retries..
Sometimes both mailboxes will require 1-2 retries.

Can't point a finger at any particular combination of server load etc..

Is anyone else seeing this error?
