Post @intranet mail boxes

We have an e-mail server working with sendmail wich accepts diferent domains, including @intranet addresses.

We want to replicate this configuration to migrate into opensource ZCS.

It is possible to send e-mails to an @intranet domain with Zimbra?

We have tried creating an intranet domain in the admin console, but we have the "Host or domain name not found." response.

We can send mails between @zimbra.dominio.local addresses

the changes we made are:

Remove reject_non_fqdn_recipient on /opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_recipient_restrictions.cf

Our /etc/hosts looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.1.213 zimbra.dominio.local zimbra
192.168.1.213 intranet.dominio.local intranet

Suggestions are very apreciate.

P.D: Release 6.0.10_GA_2692.UBUNTU8_64 UBUNTU8_64 FOSS edition.

Your hosts file is incorrect and you need to fix that. Have a look at the Split DNS article, it has full details of what's required and you can check the configuration using the commands in the 'Verify...' section.

You don't need to specifically an 'intranet' domain in Zimbra, what are you actually trying to achieve by doing that?

In our current mail server, we have 2 addresses per user, @domain.com receive mails from out of our business and @intranet for internal comunication.

The @domain.com addresses are aliases and relay the message to more than one internal users(user and his supervisor), the @intranet send only to the final user. We want to mantain this usage mode to make easier the transition.

Thanks for your help.

I found a way to do that.

Now we have 2 subdomains with the same addresses, @domain.com and @intranet.local.

In the address info@domain.com we configure to check the address info@intranet.local via Pop as an external email and save the messages directly in the Inbox folder.

Now we have 2 questions:

1 - It's posible to autocomplete the @intranet addresses in @intranet.local? How?
2 - It's posible to check the Pop accounts configured as external email even with the web client closed? the idea is to receive the @intranet.local mails directly in other clients as Thunderbird.

Thanks in advice.
