Default Zimbra logs are empty

Hi folks,

I just realized that log files are empty. I have to search and see the IP machine of a message sent in 2008. I searched in op/zimbra/logs and I found the file, zmmailboxd.out.20080602 is the name of it but is empty, does not show anything.

Using a SSH Tool (Putty), I wrote the command zmmsgtrace with the zimbra user but same thing, it says that there are 0 messages for the date above.

How can I set the time to save logs during more time ?
and if there is a way to get and print the logs I mentioned ?

I would really appreciate your help....

thanks...
