Default Granular backup of Zimbra?

Is there a program out there that can provide granular backup and restore of Zimbra?

I want to be able to backup/restore everything from the whole database, to a single email message.

Any ideas?

Right now my zimbra is not being backed up by anything.

They have software like that for Exchange.....So I thought there would be some for Zimbra.

What sort of backups are available for zimbra? And how granular do they get?

the backup included in the network edition provides disaster recovery i.e. full restore or individual account restore to any given time

if you're wanting individual email recovery your best bet is likely going to be via archiving. zimbra has archiving and there are other FOSS solutions as well.

you really don't want to manage email recovery at a single email level. if your users (or clients) are expecting you to recover individual emails you're going to have a lot of work on your hands that would be better spent (IMO) on maintaining a functional archive/discovery and managing that instead as it is better suited to the task.

Uhm, what?

Zimbra backup in the Network Edition allows you to restore an e-mail account at any point in time. Just restore it to a temp account name, and then you can pick and choose which messages to copy over to the real account.

We do this all the time, it's one of the great things about the Zimbra backup process and the redo logs.

If you don't want to restore an entire account, you can back up your Zimbra folder:
[SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version

...add per user backup
Adding per user backup and restore

...restore individual folder (into a new folder)
Restoring a single folder

Several steps are involved, so don't expect point and click restores.
