Default [SOLVED] Migration zimbra to another server

Hey there,

we've got a problem.
Our Mailserver has a defect Harddrive and now we want to move to another server.

At the Moment we have ubuntu8.04 32bit and wie want to switch to ubtunu10.04 64bit.
Yes i know theres a wikientry, but my migrationtest ends up in

Code:
Upgrading from to 6.0.10_GA_2692
Stopping zimbra services...done.
Verifying /opt/zimbra/conf/my.cnf
Starting mysql...done.
I can't upgrade version

UPGRADE FAILED - exiting.

Whats going on here? I'm sure, the services starting well but no webaccess is availible. What can we do?

Thanks a lot

How can you be sure the services are starting when you've provided no evidence that they are running? You also haven't given any details of which wiki article you're following. You've also given no details from the install log file what errors you are encountering. Have you also searched the forums for an answer to this problem? Did you actually install the same version of Zimbra on the new machine as you had on the old server?

Then, in future, you need to give details that they're running rather than 'they're running'.

How are we supposed to know that when your profile says you have 6.0.6 installed and the output form the log above says 6.0.10?

There's no evidence that's the problem when you look at the log snippet you've posted that's why I've asked you what errors you see in the log file and which wiki entry you've followed for the move to the new server.

You're confusing me here and not really answering my questions. Let's start with the answer to this: which wiki article did you follow for the move? This is important to know so I can see what you've actually done.

So you're saying that you tried the move to the new server and installed 6.0.6 on it and when that didn't work you tried an upgrade with 6.0.10, is that correct?

Next question, what errors did you see in the log file when you did the original (the first one) install on the new server?

In summary. you should give me an exact step-by-step list of what you did to move Zimbra from one server to another server (and which wiki article you followed) and which versions of Zimbra you had installed and what errors you got on the new server.

Got the same messages i posted below, just with the 6.0.6 (the version we had installed. I tried the Upgrade on a virtual server, so the currently installation is running, but the problem is not solved.

Thanks a lot so far

the problem is still existent...

now we're thinking of a fresh installation and export & import the mailboxes

Now the question is, does it work? With to different versions of zimbra installed? On the old server zimbra 6.0.6 x86 and on the new server 6.0.10 x64?

What do you mean 'it still exists'? Have you followed the instructions in the wiki article I gave you? You need to follow those instructions exactly and move to the same version of Zimbra on the new server.
