Default OS X Server and Zimbra Network Edition

Hi, I am interested in Zimbra with my OS X server. What I am interested in for functionality are the following:
- ability to read users from Open Directory(an LDAP implementation)
- web collaboration but have the ability to read/write from file system directory structure

Can anyone let me know if these features exist in the open source or enterprise editions?

Thanks In Advance

I don't understand what you mean by 'read users from Open Directory'. if you mean can you authenticate against an external source then the answer is yes. You, however, provision the users on the Zimbra server first.

What do you mean by that?

Smile OS Server/Zimbra integration

Thanks for your response Bill.

Great that external authentication can be setup!

To explain a little more. I have an OS X server and file shares created. Currently clients connect via FTP to up/download files or employees connect via VPN to access data on the file shares and communicate via email on changes, etc.

I love how Zimbra works and would like to see if it could be implemented taht document upload/download to the OS X file system shares can be integrated in a manner that allows web based users to see and interact with the same files as the desktop AFP or SMB users and have it respect the file share permissions.

I hope I am not asking too much

Hi Bill,
After some further research, what I am interested in is WebDav with Zimbra, is this fully supported in the Network Edition?

Also, I noticed that it is listed that OS X 10.4.x is preparing to be discontinued. Is Zimbra continuing support for OS X 10.6.x and greater?
