Default Apostrophe in filename breaks attachments?

We are using a Release Candidate of v4 at the moment & I'll upgrade to 4.02 when I can, so this issue might be just in the version we are using.

Would someone mind trying to send an attachment to someone using Zimbra a release version of v4 with an apostrophe in the file name?

We get

HTTP Status 404 - no such item when clicking on the attachment.

We have a user who has someone sending attachments regularly to them who likes using apostrophes in file names quite a lot.

For now our workaround is to connect Outlook via IMAP and just open Outlook when one of these comes through.

The user is sure that such attachments used to work prior to v 4

Default bug 9634?

I think this is bug 9634, fixed in 4.0 GA.

Thanks dkarp!

I've been putting off our next upgrade as I want to also allocate enough time to shift us from debian to Centos (to get away from the odd permissions problems).

Another reason to bite the bullet and get on with it.

Default Yes It Is Still That Way

In the past 3 days I have gotten email with an attachment that has an apostrophe in the filename. The download link is broken (as it is with every other download on my system, I have another post on that) and so is the "Add to Briefcase" link. That link simply does nothing.

I know it is the apostrophe because if I have the sender remove it I can then add the file to the briefcase.

That's not correct, I can receive attachments with an apostrophe in the name and view or download it without problems. You may be correct about the 'add to briefcase' option, I'd suggest you have a look in bugzilla for any already filed bug report and vote on it.

As this thread is over two years old and the bug has been fixed I'd suggest you continue with your other thread.

Bill,
Yesterday I got a file with an apostrophe in the name. Clicking on the "Add to Briefcase" link did nothing. I closed my Zimbra web client, logged into the Zimbra server, found the message, used vim to remove the apostrophe from the mime section metadata and saved the message. When the web client was reopened the "Add to Briefcase" link worked and I got the file.

I have taken the complete end-admin approach to the installation of Zimbra: it was installed using the installer with the default options on a clean CentOS box that had never been used for anything else and which presently is only being used for Zimbra. I've been impressed with how easy the install was and how well Zimbra has worked. This is a small annoyance, I'll look in bugzilla and work with the other thread on downloads.

Thanks,
Bill
