Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Error occurred during initialization of VM

- And the zimbra.log like this :

an 20 13:50:51 mail zmmailboxdmgr[32465]: assuming no other instance is running
Jan 20 13:50:51 mail zmmailboxdmgr[32465]: file /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd.pid does not exist

Update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

Code:
zmcontrol -v

The information you've posted doesn't really tell us what's wrong. You've given not details of the version of Zimbra you've moved from or to, no details of which versions were installed on both servers, no information about whether you've changed from 32bit to 64bit architecture, no information about which operating system was installed on both server, no information about whether you've changed the hostname and no information about which instructions you followed. Without any of that information it's impossible to give you any advice about what the problem might be.

It would be a good start if you gave full details about all the above questions. Did you search the forums for answer to your problem?

- I did not change any infomation in New Server ( hostname ) . I changed ServerOS from 32bit to 32bit .

- Another infomation about Mailbox's log i got /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log)

- It's like when i used rsync to backup data , i did'nt stop the Zimbra . Therefore , the session of Mailbox is still working . That's the reason why i couldn't start the service Mailbox ..

THanks all !

DId you install Zimbra 5.0.24 on the new server when you did the migration then upgrade to 6.0.10?

Nope , i didn't . The first move i take that is installing the Version 6.0.10

- And i may be trouble because i install in a new place , i mean the server has different IP . The old Server has an IP:27.0.12.31 and the new one is 192.168.0.253

Regards!

That would be your problem, you didn't follow the instructions completely (this is also mentioned all over the forums). From the bolg article:

Quote:
The one big caveat is that both instances of Zimbra MUST be running the same version. So if your old server is running 4.5.5, then you’ll need to install 4.5.5 on your new server. This wouldn’t be the time to upgrade your ZCS version.

I assume that when you did that you installed a Split DNS?

The set-up of a zimbra server doesn't just depend on an MX record. Go to the article and read (and also run the commands) the 'Verify...' section.

Obviously id didn't because your server isn't working.

How do you expect to backup your data without stopping the Zimbra services? There are details all over the forum and in the wiki on how to backup a Zimbra Open Source server, you always need to stop the services to get a consistent backup.

I don't need more details, I've already given you the cause of your problem in this post. Your first mistake was not stopping the services during the backup and the second was mentioned above in post #7, you need to start the move to the new server again from the beginning.
