[SOLVED] URGENT How to by-pass amavis

Hi,

After reboot all my mails are bounced by amavis (I think) with message:

...dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: lost connection with 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] while receiving the initial server greeting)

Before try to solve the problem let me know how to by-pass amavis to deliver the mails waiting.

try restarting amavis by
zmamavisdctl restart

check what is the status by

zmamavisdctl status

also, please post some more details from the logs, it will be helpful to solve the issue faster.

The 'zmamavisdctl status' give:

amavisd is running.

And I don't see any log to check to see what's wrong, only /var/log/mail.log with the error:

...relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=4253, delays=4253/0/0/
0, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (lost connection with 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] while receiving the initial server greeting)

To explained the origin of problem, the Zimbra worked fine more than one year but my hosting company make a machine update and the RAM grows from 8 Gb to 16Gb, but after reboot nothing worked, and the first problem was Java don't start any more I had to set:

zmlocalconfig -e mailboxd_java_heap_memory_percent=15

to make it working.

I restarted amavisd and check the status, zmcontrol status show:

z

imbra@zimbra:/$ zmcontrol status
Host zimbra.geismar.com
antispam Running
antivirus Running
ldap Running
logger Running
mailbox Running
mta Running
snmp Running
spell Running
stats Running

At this time I commented the line:

#content_filter = smtp-amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10024

In postfix main.cf and restart it to by-pass amavis to deliver the waiting mails

Have you an idea ?

zmantivirusctl stop
zmantivirusctl start


and check if the mails are flowing.

I got:

Have you checked if your amavis is outdated?

It worked fine before the machine upgrade and it start without problem. I re-installed the zcs-6.0.7_GA_2473.DEBIAN5.20100616212143 but nothing change.

Did you think that the Amavis on ZCS 6.0.7 is outdated ?
