Smile [SOLVED] Zimbra Backup Help

Hey all there.

i want to take zimbra backup. i have backup all /opt/zimbra directory.
It is 16GB in size.

How i can test it on any other PC. confusion is here that

1. i have to configure and install new zimbra as before or just copy and paste these file to the location and it will take effect automatically.

Please guide

You should start by updating your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not paste the output in this thread):

You'll need another copy of Zimbra installed but it's more than just copying the data and starting the new Zimbra. I'd suggest you start by reading some of the backup articles on the wiki (link at the top of this page) main page, you should also search the forums for details of backup/restore techniques. You could also look at some of the blog articles on what to do for migrating Zimbra to a new server. Start with those articles and post again if you have an questions.

You should mount shared directory of some window based machine and copy paste all the directory there. After completing installation do reverse process.

No, you shouldn't do that - there is more to restoring to another machine than just copy the /opt/zimbra directory structure.
