can I have two backup locations for one server

I am working on a DP solution which will need to have full backups sent off-site once a week and have our standard backups to a totally different location. I can copy the backup directory to our off-site location with a separate process, but want to ensure first of all that I can crontab two separate backups to two separate locations (on the same server) without causing issues. I understand that issues might exist if running NFS or copying to RAID5 with performance and possible corrupted files.
