Question Contact list is not loading

Hi,

I'm have a Problem with the Zimbra-Webclient but -I haven't found the right forum-section for that.
@Mod: Feel free to move this thread.

A customer has the following problem:
When she opens a new mail and clicks on "To" to choose the contact to write to, the pop-up opens but the contact-list does not load (yes, there are contacts saved in her list). In the top left corner there is this animated loading-symbol and nothing happens. When you click OK or Cancel the pop-up closes but zimbra-client stays deactivated. You have to reload to use it.
When you choose the "global address list" from the drop down, the list is loaded. Only the personal and the shared contacts do not load.
In the address-book-module everything seems normal.

In the contacts of the customer I haven't found anything unusual. Only 3 Sub-Folders with a few contact. The one shared addressbook is empty.

The problem appears (on the customers system) in firefox and IE (both new versions) and the newest JS-lib is installed. I also have tested it on my machine: same thing happens. So it is not a client-side-problem.

Can anyone tell me, why this happens?

Greets,
Steffen

I have no idea yet and no satisfactory solution from the support yet. But I'm on it... after christmas again, maybe not until next year...

Wish everybody a nice christmas and a good start of 2011.

Just out of interest, does the user have "Preferences/Composing/Always compose in new window" option checked? If they do can you get them to try it with that option unchecked and see if it makes any difference - make the change, logout, clear the browser cache then login again to see if the behaviour changes.

I have done what you suggest with no results ='( -> I am using Mozilla 3.6.13 but the rest of users uses IE7. Just for the records, both autocomplete and search functions are working okay.

What about?

finally I found a little time to look after the problem again... but I don't get to a solution yet...

I sent part of the mailbox.log to the support but the replied:

"The current mailbox.log do not give any information, please send the browser debug logs for that particular account having issue.

Enable debugging:
Web Client URL Tricks - Zimbra :: Wiki
Example: https://server.example.com/?dev=1

And send the corresponding /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log"

Since 30 minutes I try to do that, but it seams that I am to stupid for it...
I tried the "?dev=1" in the zimbra-web-client but nothing happend, also in the log-file is nothing more than before. I tried logging in my firebug, it but's out something, but I can't export it (the NetExport-Plugin 0.8b10 seams not to work with firebug 1.6 - there is no "export"-button after installation).
If anybody can explain me, what to do, I would be thankful...

I let you know, when I have some new information...

greets,
steffen

ok, one step further:

with "https://[zimbra-domain]/?debug=3&dev=1" the debug-window does open... maybe I should have read the whole wiki-page before...

I will send the output to the support and see what happens...
