Question using Outlook - no signature attached.

Hi Guys (ZNE 6.0.9)

Is there a setting I am missing? When sending mail using a Outlook Client (and I take this holds true to any mail client) I do not get the signature specified on the user-account details attached. Is there something I am missing?

Kind regards
Aubrey Kloppers

The signature is the task of the user application. If you use and define in, the web client, then the web client will take care of the signature.

If you use outlook to send emails, then outlook is responsible for the signature.

Domain level disclaimers added to all messages are the responsibility of the server and will take place regardless of the client in use.

Thank you for the reply, Dirk.

The Domain-level Signature is no more available as a Zimlet. (It gives me an error that the file does not exist when I try to download it)

Regarding the setting up of signatures:
It would be a great feature if Zimbra had the ability to stamp all mail from a user with a signature. It could be a great asset to uniformly stamp emails with GAL information strings as pre-specified by admin.

BUT, I am sure there must be a way that POSTFIX could manipulate the from field of an email and stamp the mail accordingly? (I seem to have read this somewhere...)

Kind regards and thank you for the reply

Yes it is.

You can add a message to all outbound mails regardless of how they are send by using:
Code:
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureHTML "message here"
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureText "message here"
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureEnabled True
I think that's the syntax but I failed to find it at search and only have access to our production server right now so I cant test it.

Hi Dirk
Thank you for your reply, but using the following code did not add anything onto my mail. Even sending it from a WEB Console.

Code:
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureHTML "message here"
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureText "message here"
zmprov modifyDomain domain.tld zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureEnabled True
But, that said, doing a:
Code:
 zmprov gd <mydomain>.co.za
does return:
Code:
zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureEnabled: TRUE
zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureHTML: THIS IS HTML SIGNATURE
zimbraDomainMandatoryMailSignatureText: THIS IS TEXT SIGNATURE
What now?

Kind regards
