Default Problem with Alias Domain

I have a domain mycompany.com and I created an alias myoldcompany.com.

When I send mail to user@myoldcompany.com, it bounces:

This is the mail system at host mail.mycompany.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

The mail system

<user@myoldcompany.com>: User unknown in virtual alias table

As a test, I added an alias to user@mycompany.com to be user@myoldcompany.com and it worked. However, I've never had to do this before.

Any ideas on what's going on here?

Hi

We are testing Zimbra and having a similar issue. We need to send mail to the existing users using an alias domain.

We have setup an alias domain using;

zmprov createAliasDomain alias.com company.com

Restarted Zimbra, but emails sent to the alias are bounced with "user unknown in virtual alias table"

What are we doing wrong? Setting it up individually on each account is fine, but there must be a quicker way?

Thanks

Matt
