Default postqueue: fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down

When I restarted zimbra after installing the license I got this message in the mail.

I checked the zmcontrol status and everything says it's running.

I went into the logs and there are no indications of problems.

I checked a previous person's support questions with this error, but nothing there helped.

I need a clue. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Mark

Please update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

Code:
zmcontrol -v

The usual reasons are in the forums (which of these have you tried?) and it's caused by certificate problems: site:zimbra.com +"postqueue: fatal: Queue report unavailable" - Yahoo! Search Results

What exactly did you do the install the licence? Did you get any errors )apart from the email) during the restart? Are your certificates up to date and valid?

That needs to go in your forum profile as I asked earlier otherwise we have to keep asking "which version....'"when you post. Do you have answers to my other questions?

Placed the result of zmcontrol -v on my profile.

I installed the license via zmlicense -i, and it came back no error. I then checked with zmlicense -c and it said it was OK.

The certificates should be up to date, but I don't know how to check that.

The problem may have something to do with ldap.

I did a tail -n40 on /var/spool/mail/zimbra and this is what I got -

postqueue: fatal: Queue report unavailable - mail system is down

Note the unable to to determine enabled services from ldap, that it's reading from cache.

I don't know how to fix this.

Have you checked for correct /etc/hosts file and DNS settings?

Yes.

Hosts file:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
207.192.75.62 mailgate.jvnla.com mailgate

# next line added by MSH 11/29/09
192.168.0.17 mail3.jvnla.com mail3

resolv.conf:
search mail3.jvnla.com
nameserver 4.2.2.1

Note, these files remain unchanged from prior to the zimbra update from 6.0.4 OSE to the 6.0.9 NETWORD edition. And everything was working prior to the update.
