Default amavisd segfault libc-2.7.so

I have a message stuck in queue:

Code:
zimbra@zimbra:/root$ postqueue -p
-Queue ID- --Size-- ----Arrival Time---- -Sender/Recipient-------
AF8BD4B40A3 3237938 Mon Oct 25 12:23:24 email@example.com
(lost connection with 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once)
                                         email@example.com
                                         email@example.com
                                         email@example.com

-- 3163 Kbytes in 1 Request.
Every time I try to flush the queue, I get a message like this in /var/log/messages
Code:
zimbra kernel: [2038137.758856] amavisd[2927]: segfault at d3344fbf ip b7e2e83b sp bff76af0 error 5 in libc-2.7.so[b7dc3000+149000]
That message is consistent. The email contains a standard tar.gz attachment. If the same email is sent with the files in a zip archive instead of a tar.gz the email is delivered successfully. I have updated the virus defs but no change. Any pointers?

Have you done any system upgrades recently (you might like to check if a new version of that module is available)? Perhaps checking the Ubuntu list might reveal something: +segfault +libc-2.7.so - Yahoo! Search Results

No there have been no updates to the server. This one message is the only one it occurs on that I'm aware to this point have months of operations on this version.

Of course I had already checked for updates to the server and similar problems. I came the forum as a last resort.

I do have a bit more info. The issue appears related to when amavis passes the message off to spamassasin.

Code:
zimbra amavis[5064]: SpamControl: init_child on SpamAssassin done

zimbra postfix/smtp[4754]: AF8BD4B40A3: to=<email@example.com>, relay=127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]:10024, delay=48143, delays=48135/0.01/0/7.8, dsn=4.4.2, status=deferred (lost connection with 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1] while sending end of data -- message may be sent more than once)
