Asterisk and Zimbra IM Server

Trying to configure Asterisk to send messages via XMPP through the Zimbra IM service though when I have debugging enabled I see the following error message

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal JID: asterisk@somedomain.net/d20d13a7

Any ideas on what the issue could be ?
