    Default Another zmpurgemessages problem

Zimbra GA 3.1.4 on CentOS 4.4. Zmpurgemessages when run from terminal as zimbra user return this:

Received SOAP fault: no such account: f333fe44-00ab-472e-8803-c2fa16acb600
Can't call method "to_string" on unblessed reference at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmpurgemessages line 115.

Probably never worked on my instal. Can someone help me?

I believe you'll need to look in the Zimbra db for that account name and remove it.

    Thanks for quick reply, but:

What do you mean with Zimbra db?
And how can I edit it?

I guess that f333fe44-00ab-472e-8803-c2fa16acb600 is ID of account that has been deleted in the past, but not completely. Is this right?

Sorry, I meant the zimbra mysql database. Yes, that account has been deleted, in the past, but only got deleted from LDAP and not mysql - this happened in earlier versions of zimbra. When you run zmpurgemessages it finds the db record, no ldap entry and throws the error.

OK. So for me, a linux newbie - what exactly should I do to remove such an orphan record from mysql db? I know SQL syntax, but worked in Windows only so I do not know even where to start. What table(s) are affected? Exact steps would be very welcome.

So now it is officially a bug :-)

Is there any chance for me to move quickly forward with this matter? I mean, if this bug is confirmed in not yet released 4.1.0, it could take months to see zimbra release with bug fixed. Can you please make fixed script available as soon as possible without waiting for next zimbra release? (I suppose it is not difficult to fix the script the way it is proposed in bugzilla). Or give me a guide to remove orphan accounts?

    Default orphan cleanup

I've attached a script to fix this. It works, but run it carefully, and double check that it's doing the right thing.

Running the script won't delete anything unless you specifically tell it to. Run it as the zimbra user.

Thanks for script. It has successfully deleted two accounts including one mentioned. But when I ran zmpurgemessages, it has ended with very similar report:

Received SOAP fault: no such mailbox: 12
Can't call method "to_string" on unblessed reference at /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmpurgemessages line 115.

Another run of zmreconcilembdb reports no users to delete. So what now? Can I use zmpurgemessages from 4.0.0 in 3.1.4? I am a bit conservative in moving to 4.0.0 - backup/restore procedure testing, purge archived messages...
