Default Stats keep stopping

We keep receiving email about stats stopping and starting:

Sep 24 00:00:16 home zimbramon[5059]: 5059:err: Service status change: mail.xxx.com stats changed from running to stopped

Sometimes it will just stop forever and a zmcontrol restart won't be able to recover it despite the status shows it's running. Previously, a reboot will resolve this for a while, but this time, it stayed despite a reboot of the Linux server.

What cause this to happen and how do we resolve this?

May be a problem with wrong permissions in the folder: opt/zimbra/zmstat/

Have a look at /opt/zimbra/zmstat/ wrong permissions

You really need to check some of the threads on the forums (and the wiki article) on how to debug the problem and what information the stats service generates and where it's located. Check those items first and some of the solutions in the forums. If you still have the problem after that then post again with full details of what solutions you've tried and what the results were.

I can't restart stats again and it's not permission issue this time. What could be the problem? Stats stop reason?
