Default [SOLVED] Problem to connect to external MTA

Hi, I have a problem with the external MTA. I send mail through an external mta, any external mta enter into the administration GUI give me this error:

"Name service error for name = mail.cs.xxxxx.it type = MX: Host not found, try again)"

But from the console everything seems to work correctly, the DNS was configured following Split DNS - Zimbra :: Wiki
If queries DNS i have:

[Root @ mail ~] # dig mail.cs.xxxxx.it

, <<>> Dig 9.3.6-P1-Redhat-9.3.6-4.P1.el5_4.2 <<>> mail.cs.interbusiness.it
;; Global options: printcmd
;; Got answer:
; ->> HEADER <<- opcode: QUERY, status: noerror, id: 46320
;; Flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 0

;; QUESTION SECTION:
; Mail.cs.xxxxx.it. IN A

,; ANSWER SECTION:
mail.cs.xxxxx.it. 1686 IN A 85.37.16.62

;; Query time: 1 ms
;; SERVER: 172.16.100.10 # 53 (172.16.100.10)
;; WHEN: Thu Sep 23 09:35:48 2010
;; MSG SIZE rcvd: 58

If ping:

PING mail.cs.interbusiness.it (85.37.16.62) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- mail.cs.interbusiness.it ping statistics ---
6 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 5008ms

The DNS resolves properly address. The MTA is working properly, I have another installation of Zimbra which is currently working with this MTA

Can anyone help me? I tried the other threads but have not found anything about it

OK, i have solved.
Uncheck "Activate DNS lookup" options in MTA tab in global configuration and all works fine.

If you have used the Split DNS set-up and your server is on a LAN IP (i.e. behind a NAT router) then you should have your DNS pointing to the LAN IP not your public IP (as shown in your output above). Is that what you have?

Is a split dns conf. My DNS pointing is a private LAN IP (172.16.100.10)

Not according to the information you posted above, your DNS A record has this:

Code:
mail.cs.xxxxx.it. 1686 IN A 85.37.16.62
That is, I believe, your public IP isn't it?

You also used this command to check your config:

Code:
dig mail.cs.xxxxx.it
You should actually have used this command to verify the records for your domain:

Code:
dig cs.xxxxx.it
I'd suggest you go to the Split DNS article again and check your configuration by using the commands in the 'Verify...' section, post the output of all the commands here for confirmation if you like.
