How to share colors or tags?

Hello everyone,

a new-to-zimbra-admin has another question:

How can one share colors or tags within appointments? Background is that we want to have a company-wide system of colors: green for holiday, red for meeting, and so on.

If I look into a shared calendar, then I cannot see the (colored) tags that the owner gave the appointment. I also cannot see which color the owner gave this particular calendar.


How can we solve this situation? A solution needs not necessarily use tags or colors, but there should be just a company-wide way to categorize appointments.

the color of the calendar is something set on a per user basis. the color applies to all appointments within the specific calendar as well, which means you would have to have separate calendars for holiday, meeting, etc...

There are a couple of RFEs for 'global tags', or tags working on shared stuff

Bug 5210 – shared tags between users
Bug 22824 – RFE: add global tags to be applied to Shared Mailboxes

but it doesn't look like it's coming until v7

I don't know if you've done this already but don't forget to vote on the bug reports you're interested and raise a support case and get them to add your comments to the bug, it helps give it weight and gets the developers attention.
