Default Stopping junk emails and virus infected emails

Hello Friends,

Now-a-days I am getting lot of junk emails, advertising emails (like Viagara) and virus infected emails. Content filter of zimbra delete some of those. But I want to stop that emails from coming into my domain totally.

Please let me know any effective way to stop this.

Thanks & Regards
Breejesh

There is an article in the wiki that tells you how to improve the anti-spam system if you'd care to read that, there are also threads in the forums that details what you can do to stop things like backscatter and improve your anti-spam with things like sanesecurity - have a search for them.

It might also help if you posted details of what you've tried so far and what some of the headers are from the spam you're receiving.

BTW, you will never stop 100% of the spam coming into your server so you'll have to resign yourself to that fact.

You should also update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):

Code:
zmcontrol -v

Right off the bat I see one thing that would help: upgrade to the latest version of Zimbra. There's at least one fix between 6.0.3 and 6.0.8 that will improve detection of viruses, and there's also a spamassassin upgrade in there, I think between 6.0.6 and 6.0.7.
